We are running BPC 10.0 SP15 Patch 2 .net 3.5 build 8586 and trying to fix a problematic report with poor performance. Upon scrutiny of the report, there was consistent hardcoding, v-lookups, and all kinds of imaginable cell referencing used throughout the entire report. Since then, we have rewritten the report correctly with none of the aforementioned.. It consists of 13 excel tabs/sub reports that are used to generate the "main report", on the same workbook. The largest report is 400 rows deep by 35 columns wide. The smaller reports generally are 80 rows by 25 columns wide. The report is fully dynamic; context changes drive and change the report. There are a handful of calculations for variance and net margins on each subreport, but nothing too complex. When we switch to go offline and start a distribution the distribution performance begins to decrease. It is only with this report. All our other reports are being run and distributed at very reasonable performance times. When we run this report, no matter what hour of the day, the entire distribution could take half a day, if not more. I would greatly appreciate any and all tips on how to improve distribution performance.
