BPC 10.1 sFIN standard business content Vs. Classic allocations in ECC

Hi,

I am working on a project where we are implementing sFIn 1.0 SP3 on ECC side. We are also implementing Classic allocations in ECC.

In BPC 10.1, we have activated standard sFIN business content. We need both the pre and post allocated data in BPC 10.1 for reporting and planning purposes. However, my current understanding is that "Classical" ECC allocations engine does not talk to "sFIN standard content on BPC side".

As one example, the Classic allocations team has configured "version" field in CO allocations. However, when we run our standard AO workbooks, we do not see the version values configured in ECC (actual , plan etc.). Upon investigating the BPC standard content, we found that the sFIN BPC workbooks are based on table FCOM_CATEGORY. We then had the CO allocations team configure/populate the FCOM_CATEGORY table. Once this table was populated, we were able to see the version values in the selection parameters in our standard workbooks.

However, the CO team informed us that allocations engine cannot use "FCOM_category" field to do allocations, It can only use "version"

What I am trying to understand at a high level,

1) Can we leverage standard sFIN content for reporting and planning in BPC 10.1 and be able to run standard delivered reports/workbooks for pre and post allocated data?

2) In order to use standard sFIN business content for reports and input forms, is there any "new"/"separate" configuration that needs to be done on the ECC side ?

Apologies for the 'random' discussion. I am new to the project with limited sFIN and BPC 10.1 knowledge and am trying to understand.

thanks,

anya
