Hi there
We are trying to implement a fix to align dimension property technical names across our landscape in order for us to report on the BPC model using BW reporting software (BEx). With the technical names not being consistent, we are unable to keep references in place following a transport.
The note we are trying to implement is: 1823400
We are running SAP BW 730 and BPC10.
During my first attempt, I removed all transactional and master data and began deleting the properties via the web front end. I was unable to delete some master data which was referenced in BPC / security elements. Despite this, I was able to delete most properties of the dimensions (again, except where used in BPF's). This proved to be unsuccessful as a reference-object required all of the property technical names to be identical.
In an attempt to try and simplify the process, I deleted the environment in QA and attempted to restore with a backup in Dev by using the UJBR program. However, I was met with the following error when attempting to restore the metadata only (and keeping technical names the same).
"Error occured while creating dimension XXX via Admin API".
I have now rolled back the QA system but still have the original problem.
Has anyone else had to tackle this problem? If so, how did you go about it?
Many thanks
Ian
Message was edited by: Ian Mannion I was able to restore a backup in QA (from a QA backup) following the original deletion of the environment but I then had multiple dimensions. Another confusion with seemingly no good documentation on the UJBR tool in BPC10.
