Hello All,
One of the biggest pains (in my mind) is having to always so through the EPM add-in to copy files to the respective servers. At present my team is using SVN to version control our files so that we can a) maintain history of files b) keep people from working on their local desktops c) support multiple developers from clobbering each other’s work by implementing locking and d) to maintain code branches since we are on a long project with multiple releases. Simply saving a copy on the server will not do in our instance and SVN has been a very welcome addition to our project
My challenge is that we will work on the excel files on the SVN sever and "point" them at our DEV or QUT environments based on where we are at in our dev cycle. When I have completed a bunch of files, I would like to simply "copy and paste" them to server root folder all at once versus logging into the environment and opening each file and saving it to the server one by one which is time consuming and error prone. My ultimate goal would be to automate this promotion process but I would like to do this one step at a time.
I would imagine that in the Microsoft version of this product that it would be easier as the server folder could be mapped to like any other directory
Cheers,
