Are BPC Input forms only for Static Layouts? is my statement true? here is the basic layout I am struggling with.
1. I have built a basic input layout with Cost Center in the rows and Time in the columns.
2. I have restricted my cost centers in the EPM – Member Selectorwith property CCType = Plan.(there are hundreds of them)
3. Now I can see the list of all cost centers in rows and periods in the columns with already existing plan values.
4. I have active member recognition on and Remove empty and zero values selected.
5. Now if I enter a new cost center in my rows to plan..
a. The costcenter is recognized by member recognition but disappears immediately since my "Remove empty and zero values" selected.(I need this setting because I have hundreds of cost centers and I don't want to show all of them in my layout).
b. The member selection on cost center changes to the list of costcenters that are in the rows. I would like not to change that and stay as property CCType = Plan always.
So the challenge for us is, How do I retain the cost center when I type so that I can enter my plan values. If I take off the active member recognition setting it retains the cost center but does not recognize the value I enter and it says " No data to save" message.
What settings do I need to make so that my member selection does not change and remains static always(property CCType = Plan.)
This is a very simple layout I took as an example. We have tried EPM->Insert members but that doesn't work for us because our planning layouts sometimes have 4 dimension in the rows and its impossible for us to ask users to use insert members that they have to do through 4 windows for one like they select and they would have hundreds of such lines to enter.
I have tried "Apply only Report Editor Definition for Faster Refresh" and "Restore Dynamic Selection on Refresh after Navigation" and none works.
We are trying to use EPMAxisOverride and EPMInsertCellsBeforeAfterBlock to achieve this but cant believe it has to be done this way.
Coming from IP background these for me are pretty basic I believe but we have hard time figuring that out.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!
