Local member formulas

We have rows and columns hard coded with required dimension members, the intersection is data which is fully based on 'EPMtreivedata' function.

In such a report in between 2 column we need to insert formulas. Is it possible to insert the formulas as local member based formula?

 

Can a 'local member formula' work on a report fully based on EPMretrievedata function.

Loading data to a BPC infocube from BW and generating a report for the same

Hi,

 

I want to know if there is a way to load data into a BPC infocube from BW and use the same for generating reports. I understand that using Data Manager Package is simpler and the suggested solution. However, I want to know if the same is possible via BW. The steps I performed are

 

1. Change the BPC cube to 'Real-time loading allowed; no planning'

2. Create a Transformation and DTP to load data from the standard infocube to the BPC infocube. Run the DTP

3. Change the BPC cube to 'Real-time planning allowed; no loading'

4. Right click on the BPC infocube -> Display Data. (I verified that the data is present here)

5. Generate a report.

 

 

I am not able to see the data when I generate the report even though the data is present in the BPC infocube(in BW). Am I missing some step?

 

Any help regarding this is appreciated.

 

NOTE : Attached is the document where I tried to insert a value in BPC Input Form which shows in the BPC report generated. However, the data loaded from BW is not shown in the report even though it has similar information

Runlogic PH in BPC 10 Issue

Hi All,

 

I have implemented Runlogic PH keyword in BPC 10 successfully for the parallel processing and parallel processing happens on Time dimension with the changed parameter as Time. Runlogic is implemented for all Default logic scripts(7 scripts). When we input some data for a whole year (ex:- 2013.TOTAL) out of 12 period one period(calculation) is getting skipped for one of the script. This issue is inconsistent and can not be replicated for the same set of data. Did anyone come across this issue or any inputs would be really helpful.

Issue while re-opening BPF Step

Hi Experts,

 

User is facing the issue "Could not perform operation; Contact your Planning and Consolidation administrator" while he tried to re-open the BPF step by selecting the Re-open step button.

We have checked this issue by giving  same access as user having to one of our teammate and it works fine at our side.But it is not working in user system.

 

SAP BPC 7.5 NW version with SP 15.

 

Can any one help us to resolve this issue.

Models inactive after transport

Hello Friends,

 

One of the attribute of GL Account dimension has been deleted from the dimension(unused). This attribute did not have any data in dev as well as quality

It was previously marked as navigational attribute in the models, Now with the deletion it also got deleted automatically from the models.

 

The transport is collected for the dimensions and models and was moved to quality which ended with warnings but successful

The dimension did not have this deleted attribute and it was proper, however the models containing this attribute as navigational became inactive.

and the deleted attribute shows in the bottom of the model as inactive objects. As Q is locked we can not delete from there directly

 

Tried to move the transport again, tried to collect only models and move but no success.

 

As far as I understand the navigational attributes are not a part of the model, so its deletion should not have caused issues.

 

Can anyone have some thoughts on this issue.

Error Copying Environment on BPC 10.0 NW - ITAB_DUPLICATE_KEY

Hi Gurus

 

 

I was making a COPY of environment  and the process get stuck at the time of copying Interco Dimension, which was yellow.

After that we tried to solve this yellow Dimension and created a dummy member and description and processed twice. However the process of copy the environments falls everytime at copying INTERCO Dimension.

 

Also I attached the error dump in transaction ST22 in a .txt file

 

We are working on

BW          release 7.3  level6

CPMBPC  release 8    level 6

Changed PERIODIC measure is reset to standard when transporting Environment

Hi,

I changed the standard PERIODIC measure to attend a customer requirement on a periodic model. The purpose of the change is to display the openning balance of an account on a total month column on some reports. Here the time dimension has DAYS on the base level.

 

Unfortunately every time I transport the environment from DEV to QAS I get the PERIODIC formula reset to the standard.

 

I already applied the note 1626065, but it seems to work only on YTD formula / models. The parameter REFRESH_DEFAULT_FORMULAS is set to N both in DEV and QAS in the model.

 

Does anyone have seen the same behavior?

 

We are on BPC 10.0 SP6.

Rate Model from TCURR table - Currency Conversion

Hi,

 

I need to load data from TCURR table to RATE model for exchange rates.

 

Data from TCURR table is extracted to BW info cube with info objects

 

ZRATETYPE   Exchange rate type

0DATE             Date As of Which the Exchange Rate Is Effective

ZFRMCURR     From currency

ZTOCURR        To-currency

ZVALUE           Exchange Rate

 

I have Rate model in BPC with dimensions.

 

Account

Entity

Category

Time

Input Currency

 

How to maintain the transformation file?

 

Account = ZRATETYPE (I have a conversion file for this field)

Entity = ?????

Category = *newcol(ACTUAL)

Time = 0DATE ((I have a conversion file for this field)

Inputcurrency = ZFRMCURR

signeddata = ZVALE.

 

For currency conversion, From Currency is determined by currency property of Entity, To Currency is specified by user in currency conversion DM package.

 

Let me what values to maintain for Entity?

Change to ownership manager - directly in PROD or transport?

SAP BPC10NW SP03

 

It appears that the data maintained in the Ownership Manager model is transaction data and therefore not something we would transport from DEV to PROD.  We have a situation where a company is listed twice in the ownership manager model and should be deleted in one instance.  When we delete and save it, it "appears" again after we reload the same category, path, and time period.  It seems it exists on the backend somewhere that is not being deleted.

 

We have tried this in a development instance, but if we create the ownership structure from scratch in a different period and then copy it over the existing period that is incorrect, this seems to resolve our issue.  However, we are not sure if this is the best approach or if this will cause problems, later on, because we made the change directly in the Ownership Manager in Production.

 

Does anyone know if this is the best approach or if we should do this differently?

EPM Excel Refresh Error UJO_READ_EXCEPTION_018

Hello All,

 

We are having an issue with using Account dimension roll up( hierarchy members) in EPM Excel, system returns the below error message whenever we have account roll up members in the report. Base level members work fine though.

 

We are on BPC10 NW- 801/SP04 with backend system as BW 7.31.

BPC error while creating a new team

I am not able to create new teams and keep getting the error message below:

“Error when creating team folder for Appset”

“Persistent resource for alias does not exist”

 

I started with this issue in DEV environment and when I transported a new model and related dimensions, the issue carried over to my QA and PROD environments along with it from DEV. I followed the below instructions that I read in other posts but still couldn't get this issue resolved. Please advise.

 

Steps I already tried:

1. Run SE16 to find the maximum request number for your APPSHELL from table UJT_TRANS_OBJECT in field REQNO

 

2. Run program UJT_AFTER_FAIL_PROCESS, fill your APPSHELL for field Environment and the maximum request number for field Request, do not tick 'Only Failed' (this program changes the content version back to version 'D' thereby makes the content avaiable to activate)

 

3. Run program UJS_ACTIVATE_CONTENT to activate your APPSHELL (only choose option 'Activate environment').

 

4. Retry creating a team

Question: Model not found when creating connection in EPM Add In

Hello All -

 

How are you? Hope you all are doing good.

 

I have an issue as my show stopper for me now.

After finishing creating model, including setup for the required dimensions.

 

I created connection to the corresponding model in EPM Add in. Unfortunately, I still cannot have the option to create connection based on that new model. Hence, I'm still not able to create input form with new BPC Model.

Pic 1- BPC Web shows the model ZXLBVA01 had already been created, and it's already got it optimised. Light optimised has already got run.

1). Do you know how this issue can be resolved?  Could you please kindly share with the steps.

2). Is this issue caused of BPC security authorisation object ? If yes, kindly please advise what authorisation object I should have.

FYI, Create and copy the model, dimensions, environment successfully run.

3) is there any missing steps to develop?

 

NB:

A)  environment has already setup as template version,

B) Run process on every changing master data.

C) we run BPC NW 10.

How to write logic for Return on assets ( ROA)

Hi ,

 

I am working to develop different KPI ( Key performance Indicators )  . can any one help be to build following logic .

 

 

  Return on Assets = Net Income / Average total Assets .

 

                                          Average Total Assets = Total assets previous year / total assets current year .

 

Confusion here is how can we get current and previous year data at same time ?

 

Please suggest me can we use Dimension formulas or script logic ? . client is not interested in Excel

Question: Dimension Design on Compounded Property/Attribute.

Hi All -

 

Good day to you all,

 

I would kindly like to kindly ask your thought with regards to the best practice on Compounded Attribute/Property in Dimension.

 

For e.g. I have Cost Centre Dimension - (User Defined). Member of Cost Center has dependency to Controlling Area. The reason is 1 same cost center number can be owned by 2 different Controlling Area. Hence, we need to have controlling area values in Cost Center Dimension to differentiate it.

 

If I read to SDN that I need to CONCATENATE :

ID = Co.Area + Cont Center

 

Hence, Cost Center Dimension member will be:

 

ID
CA011000001
CA011000002
CA021000002
CA021000001

 

NB:

CA01, CA02 = Controlling Area

1000001, 1000002 = Cost Center

 

The Questions are

1) Is it the best practice in BPC? How typically all of you handle the case for member of dimension whereby the Primary keys need more than one (Compounded Attribute)?

Do you use "CONCATENATE" to ID? Or if you have the different way, kindly please share your thought.

 

2) If we use "CONCATENATE", how's the approach business to enter value in BPC Input Form? Do they needs to key Controlling Area + Cost Center ? Is it commons ?

EPMSaveData - Value not written in cell when using AFTER_WORKBOOK_OPEN

Hi Experts!

 

Since this community already could help me in many cases i hope someone can help me with the following issue.

 

To allow users to set input templates offline and save them to a local drive, i don't want to use the BPC Sheet option "Refresh Data in the Whole File when Opening it". Instead i use the Custom VBA Function "AFTER_WORKBOOK_OPEN". In this function i first check if the workbook is online and afterwards start the BPC refresh API "RefreshActiveWorkBook" using the following code:

This mainly works perfect, except when using the EPM function EPMSaveData. When opening a workbook the VBA function works and i can see that the workbook is refreshed, but the target cell (yellow cell in the following screenshot) of the EPM function EPMSaveData is not filled with the value shown in the cell with the formula itself:

After entering any cell in this workbook and confirming with Enter values from all EPMSaveData functions will be sent to their target cells.

 

When using the native "Refresh Data in the Whole File when Opening it" option this issue does not occur.

 

Has anyone else experienced this problem and how can i avoid this problem?

Timeout on Large EPM Report

Hi Experts,

We have an EPM BPC report that times out with the message<TITLE> 500 SAP internal server error

No more storage space available for extending an internal table.

Has anyone encountered this issue?  if so what setting did you change to correct?

We implemented note 1470549 which did not correct the issue.

 

Anyone have ideas to expand the timeout settings or parameters for EPM?

IFRS Starter Kit- Running a package for Consolidation

Hi All

 

I am Experiencing a problem running a package in the IFRS Starter Kit RDS for BPC consolidation.

 

The Package I am running is ACTUAL CONSOLIDATE.

 

It gives me the below error:

 

Unknown or Unimplemented keyword ;#y&#127;  #|# ,+H##Q##b# 8#p######d##

 

When I look at the Script Logic related to the package. It also displays like this.

 

 

I am quite new to the RDS, so is it possible for someone to explain this to me.
